Did you know that in 2008, BMX racing became recognized as an Official Olympic Sport? You may have seen the action on Olympic television broadcasts as interest in the sport has exploded, and now is the perfect opportunity for you to support Calgary athletes (both male and female) as they prepare for their shot at future Olympic GOLD.
Calgary BMX Racing conducts weekly coaching programs (every Tuesday and Wednesday) and district races (every Thursday) throughout the entire racing season, which typically runs from mid-May to late-September. With an annual enrollment of approx. 175 members and their families of greatly diverse vocations and interests, our club enjoys traffic from up to 300 visitors per week.
Additionally, Calgary BMX Racing hosts' one annual sanctioned major racing event (part of either the Canadian Western National Series or the Provincial Series) and/or at least one specialized coaching clinic per season. Our central location and reputation for putting on highly organized and extremely well run events, makes Calgary BMX Racing a big draw for events of this nature. Past events have attracted well over 400 competitors and their families resulting in our club entertaining over 1,500 guests during a single weekend event.
As a 100% volunteer run not-for-profit sport organization, we are asking for your assistance to help us make each racing season a success and to support our youth in their amateur sport development.
Donations of cash, goods and/or services from you or your organization will be used to assist club operations or as raffle items to help offset costs of hosting major events. Any gift you provide will be greatly appreciated by Calgary BMX Racing, our athletes and their families.
In recognition of your contribution we will display the name of your organization as a supporting sponsors on all Calgary BMX Racing marketing materials. This includes prominent display throughout all areas of the track as well as on our website. Additionally, all donations are tax deductible and you can request a free display trophy to commemorate your support of amateur sport within the community.
For more information or to get involved in a more significant way, such as becoming a "pro purse" sponsor or to even obtain naming rights to a section of our track, please contact the Calgary BMX Racing Marketing Executive to further investigate the many possibilities and benefits of supporting amateur sport in our community.
